The Netflix platform announced the approximate release date in a letter to investors 🤓
We may not know a clear date, but now we at least have an idea of what year the continuation of the Squid Game series will be released. In 2021, the project managed to become the most discussed of all that were released on the Netflix streaming platform. In addition, “The Squid Game” has collected a huge number of prestigious prizes and awards. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk voiced his desire to release the second season almost immediately, right after the final episode 😉
Initially, the premiere of the sequel was planned for 2023, but the second season had to be worked on a little longer. According to the director, it can be assumed that the central character will be Song Ki-hoon, who won the game and was about to leave for America. His main goal will be revenge on the tournament organizers. The director of the project claims that in the second season the hero will not be so naive; on the contrary, he will use all the skills he acquired in the first season.
The second season is expected to air in the fall of 2024. But there is no exact release date yet. Most likely, it will be announced a little later, when the final work on the materials is finally completed.
